D-Squared! This is one of the best educational opportunities you will have!

Now joined by Don Dickson! for an incredible value. DicksonYou just can't pass this class up!

This class will create and design environmental portraits. Working on location in homes and outdoors presents many unique challenges. Don will teach you about light control and composition so that you can design your own images with the knowledge that you will give your clients images to remember. To do this, Don will not just show you how to make images during the "sweet light" but will deal with harsh sunlight and difficult situations. He will show you how to use reflectors, flash systems, and other tools in order to achieve the best possible digital file.

Posing, family groups and individuals, will be part of the daily class, which will be split with lecture and demonstrations. Don will also deal with sales of large images as wall decor. The class will also spend time on creating purchasing desire through consultations and how to “close” on portrait sales that bring financial success to your business.

Don's passion for portrait and wedding photography has been his life’s mission. For almost 40 years Don has built a reputation for fine portraits that go beyond “pictures”. The respect from his peers has led Don to be an active lecturer across Canada, the United Sates and internationally. Don holds Master of Photography degrees from the Professional Photographers of Canada and the Professional Photographers of America. He serves on numerous boards and committees across North America that defines the professional course of portrait and wedding photography.

Don Dickson will add his expertise in Senior photography to the class. At the age of twelve, Don Dickson received his first medium format camera as a gift from his grandmother after a visit to China. This created a love for photography that has lasted a lifetime. His senior year in high school, Don photographed and published his first church directory. His first prom to photograph was his own senior prom. After going off to college to get a degree in business, he opened Don’s Photography Studio at the age of 20.

He received his Master of Photography degree from PPA in 1988, the youngest recipient at that time in the state.

Don received the Gerhard Bakker award in New Orleans at Imaging USA in 2005. This award is PPA’s highest award for excellence in Education. His love and passion for photography shows in all the aspects of his life. He has been married to his wife Charlcey for 26 years and has two children, Kyle and Suzanne.
